EVANSTON — After night one the triple dual, Northwestern trails Minnesota, 121-64, and Purdue, 99-87. The action will pick back up tomorrow at the Norris Aquatics Center with the 400 medley relay at noon CT.
Freshman Anthony Marcantonio continued to impress with victories in both the 200 free and the 200 IM events. After swimming a top time of 1:38.62 in the 200 free, Marcantonio posted a 1:50.36 in the 200 IM. This is the second consecutive week he has won both events.
The Wildcats had a pair of second-place finishes on the evening. Sophomore Almog Olshtein earned second in the 50 free (20.52), while the 400 free relay team of Jovanovic, Peterson, Olshtein and Marcantonio nabbed second with a time of 3:01.43.
Carter Page's streak of first-place finishes in the 1,00 free was snapped when the freshman finished third with a swim of 9:26.28. Page will be back in the pool tomorrow competing in the 500 free.
