EVANSTON, Ill. - Harley Abrams has signed with Northwestern to join the men's golf program for the upcoming 2015-16 season while pursuing his postgraduate degree. He has one year of athletic eligibility remaining and is able to compete immediately.
A native from Boca Raton, Fla., Abrams comes to Evanston from Lehigh University where he was a 2015 GCAA Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-American Scholar and a three-time Patriot League All-Conference selection. Abrams was named the Lehigh men's golf MVP during his tenure in Bethlehem, Pa., and was a two-time Patriot League All-Academic team member.
Abrams, who graduated from Lehigh in just three years, was a semi-finalist in the 2014 North and South Amateur at Pinehurst after an eighth-place finish in stroke play. In 2013, he helped lead Lehigh to its first-ever NCAA Regionals appearance and its first Patriot League Championships since 1997.
"Pat [Goss] and I are excited to welcome Harley Abrams to the Northwestern Golf Family this fall," said head coach David Inglis. Harley brings a wealth of experience from his collegiate career at Lehigh and will add tremendous depth to our squad this year. We know that he will be a great role model for our younger guys."
