EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern's plays its lone home game during a four-game span on Saturday as it hosts New Orleans at Welsh-Ryan Arena. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. Tickets are available at NUsports.com.

The Wildcats are coming off a stretch during which they played four games in seven days, punctuated by games Monday and Tuesday at the CBE Hall of Fame Classic in Kansas City. Northwestern posted a 67-62 win Tuesday over Missouri in the third-place game. Bryant McIntosh and Tre Demps scored 13 points apiece while Scottie Lindsey dished out a career-best 7 assists. The 'Cats led by as many as 20 points in the first half before holding off the Tigers late for the win to improve to 4-1 on the season.

Through games played Thursday, McIntosh ranks second in the Big Ten with an average of 18.2 points per game while ranking fourth in the league with 6.0 assists per contest. He also is fifth in 3-point field goal percentage (.545) and sixth in free throw percentage (.882).

Meanwhile, Demps has been hot over the Wildcats' last three games. In contests against Columbia, North Carolina and Missouri, Demps posted an average of 18.7 points per game. During that span he has shot 47.7 percent from the field including 52.9 percent from 3-point range. He posted back-to-back 20-point games during the stretch, tallying 22 points in the overtime win against Columbia before scoring 21 points (including 18 in the second half) against the ninth-ranked Tar Heels.

Demps enters Saturday's contest 27th on NU's career scoring list with 1,097 points. He is 16 points behind Mark Sibley (1971-73) for 26th place, 25 shy of Tavaras Hardy (1999-2002) for 25th and 26 away from Hal Grant (1952-55) for 24th.

Scouting New Orleans
The Privateers (2-2) are coming off a 64-51 victory at Bradley on Wednesday. Christavious Gill and Nate Frye led New Orleans with 13 points apiece. Gill paces the team with an average of 13.8 points per game while Kevin Hill ranks first on the squad with 9.0 rebounds per contest. New Orleans was picked to finish eighth in the Southland Conference this season in a preseason poll of the league's coaches. The Privateers posted an 11-18 record a year ago. Mark Slessinger is in his fourth season as the head coach at New Orleans.
