Wildcats sweep sprint freestyle and diving events

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Andrew Cramer finished first on both diving boards and Almog Olshtein placed first in both of the spring freestyle events to lead the Northwestern men's swimming and diving team against Wisconsin on Saturday at Norris Aquatics Center.
The Badgers won the meet by a score of 181.5 to 117.5.
Cramer continued his solid start to the season by notching the two victories. He won on the 1-meter springboard with a score of 320.25 before notching a victory on the 3-meter board with a score of 343.65. Teammate Reed Dillon contributed a second-place finish on the 1-meter board with his score of 309.08.
Olshtein was a double-winner as well. He started his day individually by touching first in the 50 free in a time of 20.61. He later finished in a dead-heat for first place in the 100 free as his time of 46.18 matched that of Wisconsin's Ryan Barsanti.
Northwestern got one other win on the day. Carter Page continued the solid start to his freshman campaign as he was victorious in the 1000 free, winning in a time of 9:27.36 to defeat the second-place finisher by nearly six seconds.
The Wildcats got second-place finishes from Thanas Kountroubis in the 100 breaststroke (57.68), Justin Hanson in the 200 butterfly (1:52.14) and Andy Jovanovic in the 200 backstroke (1:52.63).
Northwestern returns to action next weekend as it hosts the annualy TYR Invite Friday through Sunday at Norris Aquatics Center.
