Wildcats Finish Third at Bridgestone Golf Collegiate

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- After shooting 4-under 860 as a squad, Northwestern closed out the Bridgestone Golf Collegiate with a third-place team finish on Monday afternoon in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Five Wildcats competed at the Grandover Resort in a field of 14 teams. Purdue came out on top at 30-under 834 followed closely by North Carolina at 28-under 836. Purdue also had the top individual finisher, Austin Eoff, who finished 13-under 203.
The top finisher for the 'Cats was senior Andrew Whalen closed out the tournament ranked eighth overall in the individual standings. Whalen carded 16 birdies through three rounds and finished the final day at even par. The senior shot a season-best 3-under 213 through three rounds.
Senior Josh Jamieson also logged a season-best performance, finishing 1-under 215 for an 11th-place finish. Jamieson shot an impressive 2-under par on the front nine with three birdies, and sealed the third round at even par.
Sam Triplett also finished among the fields top-20, coming in at 16th overall after shooting even-par 216. The sophomore etched his way into the Northwestern record books after tallying an 8-under 64 second round to tie for the fourth-best individual round in program history.
Freshman Pete Griffith finished the tournament at 6-over 222 in 35th place, while sophomore Dylan Wu closed out at 7-over 223 to sit 41st in the individual standings.
