EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern travels to Ohio State this weekend, April 12-13, for the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate on the famed Scarlet Course in Columbus, Ohio.
It's a tournament annually attended by the Wildcats, who are returning after the event was not staged in 2013. Instead, Northwestern hosted and won its own NU Spring Invitational last year. This season's return of the Kepler features 15 teams and is hosted by the Buckeyes at the par-71, 7,455 yard Scarlet Course. The first and second rounds will be held Saturday, April 12, beginning with a 7:30 a.m. CT/8:30 a.m. ET shotgun start. The final round is set for Sunday, with tee times starting at 7:30 CT/8:30 ET as well.
The field is highlighted by No. 5 Georgia Tech, No. 18 UAB, No. 31 Kent State, No. 34 UNLV, No. 36 Liberty, and No. 47 Northwestern inside the current Golfstat.com top 50. The remainder of the field is comprised by Ball State, Cleveland State, Eastern Michigan, Miami (Ohio), Missouri, Ohio State, Oregon State, Penn State and UNC Charlotte.
Live Scoring is available via Golfstat.
The Wildcats have seen success in Columbus in the past. NU has taken home four titles at the Kepler Intercollegiate, making it the third-winningest team in event history behind Kent State (5 titles) and host Ohio State (23).
Northwestern is coming off a solid eighth-place performance among a strong 18-team field at The Goodwin hosted by Stanford two weeks ago. Senior Jack Perry (Santa Barbara, Calif./Santa Barbara) earned a T4 finish and was named the Big Ten Golfer of the Week. On Tuesday of this week, he was selected as a finalist for the GCAA's Byron Nelson Award.
