DELRAY BEACH, Fla. -- Northwestern fired a final-round 9-over 297 Sunday at the FAU Spring Break Championship to place 11th in the 17-team field.

NU compiled a 54-hole total of 34-over 898 (295-306-297) to come in four shots behind a three-way tie for eighth place. The Wildcats were five shots in front of 12th-place Murray State.

Senior David Lipsky (La Canada, Calif./La Canada) and freshman Brad Shigezawa (Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou Academy) each came in 22nd overall at 3-over 219 to lead Northwestern. After teeing off the back side on Sunday, Lipsky was 1-under par until back-to-back bogeys at Nos. 5 and 6, but he recovered with a birdie at No. 7 to finish with an even-par 72 and a 3-over 219 (72-75-72). Shigezawa found himself at 4-over through 11 holes Sunday after a tough 4-over, four-hole stretch midway through his round, but he fought back with birdies at Nos. 4 and 6 coming home to finish at 2-over 74 and 3-over 219 (72-73-74).

Sophomore Nick Losole (Scottsdale, Ariz./Scottsdale Notre Dame) carded a 5-over 77 on Sunday after 13 pars and five bogeys to finish in 56th at 12-over 228 (73-78-77). Eric Chun (Ansung City, South Korea/International Christian School) fired his best round of the tournament Sunday with a 2-over 74 to place 73rd with a 18-over 234 (80-80-74).

Senior Josh Dupont (Poway, Calif./Cathedral Catholic) rounded out NU's team scorers in 83rd position with a 24-over 240 (78-84-78).

Playing as an individual, senior Ravi Patel (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) continued his stellar tournament with a final-round 2-under 70 -- matching his career-best score established in Friday's opening round. He placed tied for seventh at 2-under 214 (70-74-70), easily the best tournament of his career. Patel started Sunday with a birdie-eagle tally, holing a wedge from 80 yards on the 339-yard par 4 11th. Another birdie at No. 14 put him two off the lead and 4-under on the day. He made a double-bogey on No. 17 and pars the rest of the way to complete his tournament.

Freshman Jack Perry (Santa Barbara, Calif./Santa Barbara) fired a 1-over 73 Sunday to complete a 4-over 220 (71-76-73) as an individual, coming in 24th.

Northwestern returns to action April 9-10 at the ASU Thunderbird.
