OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. -- Northwestern jumped one spot during Sunday's final round at the Olympia Fields Country Club/Fighting Illini Invitational, moving up to finish 11th among the 15-team field that featured nine squads from the 2010 NCAA Championships field.

The Wildcats carded a final-round 10-over 290 -- matching their best score of the tournament -- to finish at 32-over 872 (290-292-290). NU was two shots behind ninth-place Purdue and Stanford and three strokes in front of California. Florida won the tournament with a 5-over 845, besting 2010 NCAA champion Augusta State and 2010 NCAA runner-up Oklahoma State, who tied for second.

Northwestern teed off from No. 10 as it had all tournament long, putting together its most complete team effort of the Invitational. All four scoring Wildcats were within a stroke of each other, turning in a pair of 2-over 72s and a pair of 3-over 73s.

Junior Eric Chun (Ansung City, South Korea/International Christian School) completed a top-10 finish with a final-round 2-over 72, putting him at 2-over 212 (68-72-72) and in a tie for seventh place for the tournament. Chun had a very steady day, making par on 16 holes and bogey on the other two.

Senior David Lipsky (La Canada, Calif./La Canada) also carded a 2-over 72 Sunday to finish 30th at 7-over 217 (71-74-72). Lipsky made an early bogey at No. 12 before erasing it with a birdie after the turn at the par-5 first hole. Back-to-back bogeys at Nos. 5 and 6 left him at 2-over on the day.

Freshman Brad Shigezawa (Honolulu, Hawaii/Punahou Academy) completed his first-collegiate tournament in 45th place with a 54-hole total of 12-over 222 (72-77-73). On Sunday, Shigezawa made par on every hole of the back nine before a turbulent four-hole stretch on the front side. After back-to-back bogeys at Nos. 1 and 2, he recovered with a birdie at No. 3. A double-bogey followed at No. 4 before Shigezawa made par the rest of the way for his final round 3-over 73.

Senior Josh Dupont (Poway, Calif./Cathedral Catholic) had his best score of the tournament Sunday, carding a 3-over 73 to finish 63rd overall at 16-over 226 (79-74-73). Dupont was 1-over on the back nine, then made a second bogey at No. 2. His final five holes went bogey-birdie-bogey-birdie-bogey for a roller-coaster 2-over 37 on the way in.

Sophomore Nick Losole (Scottsdale, Ariz./Scottsdale Notre Dame) completed the NU final round with an 8-over 78, placing him 72nd with a 19-over 229 (79-72-78) on the weekend.

Northwestern returns to action at its own Windon Memorial Classic next Sunday and Monday, Sept. 26-27 at North Shore Country Club in Glenview, Ill.
