EVANSTON, Ill. -- Juniors Josh Dupont (Poway, Calif./Cathedral Catholic) and David Lipsky (La Canada, Calif./La Canada) along with sophomore Eric Chun (Ansung City, South Korea/International Christian School) have been named 2010 Division I PING All-Midwest Region selections by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
Dupont is first-time honoree after appearing in eight stroke play tournaments in 2009-10, including all six of the Wildcats' spring events. He ranked third on the team with a career-best 73.48 stroke average and compiled three top-20 finishes.
Lipsky, the 2010 Big Ten individual champion, is a two-time honoree after also winning the award in 2009. He was Northwestern's top golfer on the season, compiling a 71.88 stroke average -- the sixth-best single-season mark in school history. The All-Big Ten first-team choice had 16 rounds at par or better in 2009-10 while recording four top-10 finishes and three other top-20 efforts.
Chun also is a two-time All-Region pick after picking up the award as a freshman last season. He earned a 72.77 stroke average in 2009-10, ranking second on the team and 10th in NU single-season history. In addition to success on the international stage (Chun finishes as the runner-up at the inaugural Asian Amateur Championship before qualifying for the 150th British Open at St. Andrews), the sophomore had three collegiate top-10s and three more top-20 finishes.
