David Lipsky Named Big Ten Golfer of the Week

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Junior David Lipsky (La Canada, Calif./La Canada) has been named the Big Ten Golfer of the Week after putting together a perfect 4-0 record to help Northwestern to the championship at the Big Ten Match Play event at Heron Bay.
Northwestern's first match against Wisconsin came down to three battles on the 18th hole, and Lipsky was one of the Wildcats to hold on for a one-up victory. Against third-seeded Michigan, Lipsky won a commanding 5-and-4 decision.
His biggest win of the weekend came versus second-seeded Iowa, when he came from three holes down with eight to play to win his match. The triumph proved to be the difference in a 3.5-2.5 victory that sent the Wildcats into the Match Play final. The California native posted his fourth victory of the two-day event in NU's sweep of Purdue for the title.
The selection marks the second Big Ten Golfer of the Week award in Lipsky's collegiate career.
