EVANSTON, Ill. -- Northwestern continues its season Saturday through Sunday, April 11-12 at the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate on the Scarlet Course in Columbus, Ohio. The Wildcats have won the event three times and captured four individual titles in the tournament's history.
This year's Kepler Intercollegiate consists of two rounds Saturday, April 11 and the final round on Sunday, April 12, on the par 71, 7,455-yard Scarlet Course. Day one will kick off with a 7:30 a.m. CT/8:30 a.m. local time shotgun start, while the final round will consist of tee times.
The 13-team field includes fellow Big Ten programs Iowa, Minnesota, Ohio State, Penn State and Wisconsin. NU took fifth out of 14 entries in the tournament in 2008.
Northwestern won the Kepler Intercollegiate team title in 2006, the same year that Kyle Moore was crowned individual champion. NU also won the event in 1998 and 1999. Individually, Luke Donald was a two-time champ (1998 and 2000) while Jess Daley won in 1999.
Current junior David Lipsky (La Canada, Calif./La Canada) enters the weekend as the reigning Big Ten Golfer of the Week, earning the honor for the first time in his career after finishing seventh at the Cowboy Classic hosted by Wyoming. Lipsky was NU's first weekly award winner since 2006.
