Northwestern Finishes Sixth at Wyoming Cowboy Classic

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Northwestern placed sixth out of 20 teams at the Cowboy Classic hosted by Wyoming, finishing with a three-round total of 9-over 849 (287-273-289) after Tuesday's final round at Talking Stick Golf Club in Scottsdale, Ariz.
NU was four strokes behind fifth-place Fresno State and 12 strokes in front of seventh-place Idaho. UC Davis won the tournament for the third-straight year after shooting an event record 13-under 267 in Tuesday's final round.
Junior David Lipsky (La Canada, Calif./La Canada) led the Wildcats with a seventh-place finish, earning a 54-hole total of 2-under 208 (70-67-71). Lipsky's effort marked his first under-par tournament of the 2008-09 season while matching his best individual finish of the year, also achieved at the CordeValle Collegiate. He has three top-10 efforts this season.
Jonathan Bowers (Columbus, Ohio/Bishop Watterson) placed 33rd with a 5-over 215 (72-67-76) while Eric Chun (Ansung City, South Korea/International Christian School) was 39th with a 6-over 216 (71-67-78).
Josh Dupont (Poway, Calif./Poway) matched Lipsky's team-best round of 1-over 71 Tuesday to finish 44th at 7-over 217 (74-72-71). Andy DeKeuster (Franksville, Wis./Racine Lutheran) also had a 71 Tuesday, placing 63rd overall with a 10-over 220 (75-74-71).
