PALO ALTO, Calif. -- Northwestern concluded the U.S. Intercollegiate Sunday with a 13th-place finish in the 17-team field, led by freshman Eric Chun's (Ansung City, South Korea/International Christian School) 13th-place finish.
NU shot a 54-hole total of 17-over 857 (289-282-286), finishing two strokes behind No. 17 Texas and 12 shots ahead of the 14th-place team, Santa Clara. The field in the U.S. Intercollegiate featured 10 top-50 ranked squads.
Chun concluded his tournament with a total of 3-under 207 (67-68-72) to earn the fourth top-20 finish of his collegiate career. He entered the final round tied for fourth place among a field containing five golfers in the nation's top-25.
Junior David Lipsky (La Canada, Calif./La Canada) also was under par for the tournament, finishing with a 1-under 209 (70-68-71) to tie for 21st position. Matching Lipksy's team-best 71 in the final round was Jonathan Bowers (Columbus, Ohio/Bishop Watterson), who was 8-over 218 (77-70-71) in the event to tie for 58th.
Ravi Patel (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) fired his best round of the weekend Sunday, turning in a 2-over 72 to give him a 13-over 223 (75-76-72) in the Intercollegiate. Josh Dupont (Poway, Calif./Cathedral Catholic) rounded out NU's entries at 22-over 232 (78-76-78).
Northwestern now has a week off before heading to State College, Pa., May 1-3 for the Big Ten Championships.
