EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern men's golfer Jess Daley (Kent, Wash./Kentwood) was named Big Ten Golfer of the week after winning the Kepler Intercollegiate in Columbus, Ohio. The tournament hosted by Ohio State took place on OSU's par 72, 7, 141-yard Scarlet Course.

Daley was the only golfer to shoot under par and led the Wildcats to the team championship. He finished the 54-hole tournament 6-under-par, shooting rounds of 70-68-72=210, seven strokes ahead of second-place finisher and teammate Luke Donald.

Daley's win follows an impressive 10-under-par final round 62 at the Compaq Collegiate held in Los Cabos, Mexico. Daley's 62 is tied with several others for the second-best round in NCAA history and is one stroke behind Tiger Wood's (Stanford 1994-96) 11-under-par 61 shot at the 1996 Pac-10 Championships.

On the year, Daley has a stroke average of 71.23 in nine tournaments and a final round average of 70.22. In addition to his tournament title, he has two second-place finishes and two third-place finishes.
