Men's Golf Finishes Second at San Juan Shoot-Out

EVANSTON, Ill. - The fifth-ranked Northwestern men's golf team finished in second place at The San Juan Shoot-Out golf tournament held at Rio Mar Country Club in Puerto Rico. The team shot a final round 280, the lowest of the day, as the `Cats jumped from sixth to second place. Georgia Tech, ranked No. 1, finished four shots ahead of NU, while No. 2 Clemson and No. 4 Georgia finished four and nine shots behind the `Cats, respectively.
Junior Luke Donald (High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, England/Royal Grammar School), shot a final round 68 to finish 9-under-par to take home individual honors by three strokes over Bubba Watson (Georgia). This is his third title of the year and the eighth of his career. Donald's 68 (70-69-68/) was tied for low-round of the day with Watson and third-place finisher Jess Daley (Kent, Wash./Kentwood). Daley shot rounds of 72-71-68 to finish 5-under-par.
