Men's Golf Finishes Third at Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern men's golf team finished in third place at The Mercedes-Benz Collegiate golf tournament held at Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Verde Beach, Florida.
The Wildcats shot a final-round 290, the lowest total among the field, and gained seven strokes on team champion Florida and nine strokes on second-place North Florida.
Junior Luke Donald (High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, England/Royal Grammar School) finished third individually, shooting the low round of 67 on the final day. Donald's 67 (73-73-67) was three strokes better than the nearest competitor for the final round. Senior Jess Daley (Kent, Wash./Kentwood) finished in a tie for fifth as he closed out at even par for the tournament. (70-73-73)
