Men's Golf Places Seventh at CGF National Intercollegiate

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern men's golf team defeated the University of Texas 3-2 to finish seventh at the National Intercollegiate Match Play in Estero, Fla. The tournament was played at the West Bay Club, a par-72, 6,878-yard course.
Leading the way for Northwestern was freshman Tom Johnson who finished the tournament undefeated at 3-0. He beat Jason Hartwick 1 up as senior Luke Donald defeated John Klauk 5 and 4. Scoring the third and final point for NU was sophomore Scott Harrington who defeated Matt Brost 2 and 1.
Northwestern went 1-2 in the tournament falling to third-seeded Arizona in the first round and second-seeded Clemson in the second round.
This is NU's final fall tournament. The `Cats are next in action February 18-20, at the Mercedes Benz Collegiate Classic in Ponte Verde, Fla.
