Men's Golf Finishes Third at Husky Invitational

PORT ORCHARD, Wash. - The Northwestern men's golf team finished tied for third place following Tuesday's final round of the Husky Invitational, hosted by the University of Washington. The 'Cats posted rounds of 367-359-369 to finish tied with BYU with a team total of 1,095, four strokes behind Oregon and Stanford. The Ducks won the team title on the first playoff hole. The Husky Invitational was played using the top five scores of a six-man team, rather than the usual five-count-four format.
Individually, sophomore Luke Donald continued his sparkling play, shooting rounds of 69-72-71 to finish tied for runner-up honors at four-under-par 212. Stanford's Dusty Brett won the event at seven-under-par 209. Josh Habig also notched a top-20 finish, shooting 71-70-77 to finish tied for 12th place at two-over-par 218. Other Wildcat finishers were Erik Ciotti (t21st, 75-74-73=222), Jess Daley (t27th, 72-73-78=223), Danny Riskam (t31st, 80-70-75=225) and David Shaffer (t48th, 82-77-73=232).
The Wildcats next host the Windon Memorial Classic, Monday and Tuesday, October 5-6, at North Shore Country Club in Glenview. Round one will tee off at 7:30 a.m. on Monday with round two taking place 20 minutes after the conclusion of the first round. The final round will start at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
