No. 12 Men's Golf Wins Marshall Invite

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern men's golf team, ranked 12th in the country, won its second team title in the last three tournaments, capturing the Marshall Invitational which concluded Saturday afternoon. NU posted team scores of 298-294-292 for a total of 884, two strokes ahead of Toledo and nine strokes ahead of Kent.
The Wildcats also captured the team title at San Diego State's Aldila Collegiate Classic, held March 8-9 at the Carlton Oaks Country Club in Santee, Calif. NU has now either won or finished runner-up at six of nine tournaments this season.
Individually, junior Jess Daley (Kent, Wash./Kentwood) and senior Erik Ciotti (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) tied for 10th place at eight-over-par 221. Illinois' D.A. Points won the tournament at one-under-par 212. Wildcat junior David Shaffer (Andover, Mass./Andover) tied for 19th place in his first tournament of the spring while senior Josh Habig (Jasper, Ind./Jasper) fired a final-round 72 to tie for 24th place. Next up for NU is Ohio State's Kepler Intercollegiate, scheduled for April 16-18 in Columbus, Ohio.
