Men's Golf Finishes Second at Duke Golf Classic

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern men's golf team finished second at the Duke Golf Classic Tuesday afternoon at the Duke Golf Club in Durham, N.C. The Wildcats shot rounds of 288-288-292 to finish with a team total of 868, four strokes behind North Carolina, which fired a final-round 282. This was the second-straight tournament and third time in the last four tournaments that NU has finished as team runner-up.

East Tennessee State's Eamonn Brady took individual honors with a five-under par 211 (72-71-68). Northwestern sophomore Luke Donald finished in a four-way tie for second place at four-under-par 212 (69-74-69). This marks the third consecutive runner-up finish for Donald, whose stroke average this season is now a team-leading 70.2.

Northwestern also had three golfers among those in a 10-way tie for 18th place. Seniors Josh Habig (73-73-74) and Erik Ciotti (75-72-73) along with junior Danny Riskam (72-71-77) each finished at six-over-par 220. Rounding out the scoring for NU was Jess Daley, who tied for 30th place at six-over-par 222 (74-72-76).
