Stanford Leads Windon Memorial After One Day

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Stanford University men?s golf team leads after 36 holes at the Windon Memorial golf tournament, which is being held on the Conway Farms Golf Club in Lake Forest.
The Cardinal, led by Alex Aragon, shot a team total of 290-286?576 for the two rounds that were played during the event?s first day. That gives Stanford a one-shot lead over Kent and a four-shot lead against Southern California.
Northwestern?s Luke Donald, the defending NCAA men?s golf champion, leads the individual competition. He shot 71-67?138 on the par-71 Conway Farms course to take a 3-stroke lead over Aragon and Ben Curtis of Kent. However, as a team the Wildcats were in eighth place after the first day with a two-round score of 298-292?590.
Northwestern was rounded out by Josh Habig (tied for 22nd, 73-73?146), David Shaffer (tied for 53rd, 78-76?154), Jess Daley (tied for 58th, 76-79?155) and Scott Harrington (65th, 81-76?157).
The Windon Memorial will conclude Tuesday with one final round, scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. on the first tee and 8:30 on the 10th tee.
