The 'Cats got off to a solid start at the 2026 Big Ten Swimming & Diving Championships, posting two season-best marks, including a school record, opening with two relays. The first session of the day was the 200 Medley Relay, swam by Grey Davis, Teya Nikolova, Kat Nikonova and Lindsay Ervin. Competing in the second heat, the 'Cats clocked a 1:36.74 finish, improving on their season best to claim 7th place. NU also competed in the 800 Free Relay, where Nikonova, Sydney Smith, Zoe Nordmann and Hana Shimizu-Bowers. The quartet posted a 7:01.42 time, beating their season by over six seconds. The B-cut finish marked a school record and surpassed heat two's Nebraska and Minnesota to claim 6th.

NU fought for eight finals appearances in day two of the Big Ten Championships. Nordmann notched a personal-best 1:46.31 in the 200 free to win the C-Final, while Nikolova also set a personal best in the 100 breast. First-year Nikolova clocked a 1:00.47 time in the B-Final, claiming 10th. The night closed out with the 200 free relay, where 'Cats Ervin, Nikonova, Yu and Pan placed sixth.

The 'Cats qualified for five finals on day three, for two B finals and two C finals in individual events. Davis won the C Final, posting a 52.73 finish in the 100 back. In the C final, Shimizu-Bowers finished her 500 free in 4:50.48 for 23rd, while Nordmann clocked a 4:43.93 in the B final for 11th. Ervin concluded the individual finals in the B final of the 50 free, claiming an A cut finish of 22.10 for 13th. Isabella Chen became the first diver to place for the 'Cats at this year's championships, scoring a 262.60 in the 3M event for 19th. Davis, Nikolova, Chow and Ervin teamed up for the 400 medley relay, in which they finished 7th in 3:36.32. Olivia Detter was recognized as a 2026 Big Ten Women's Swim and Dive Sportsmanship Honoree. Through Day 3, NU is in 8th place in team standings, with 202 points.

NU closed with a strong performance on Saturday, with nine finals showings. The final day's effort was highlighted by Ervin, notching two A-Cut personal best performances in the 100 free (prelims: 48.31, A Final: 48.28), while also leading off for the 'Cats' 400 free relay. Davis competed in the C Final for the 200 IM, finishing 23rd with a time of 2:01.46. Nordmann posted an A Cut finals finish, taking 6th in the 1650 free with a time of 16:06.23. Nikonova joined Ervin in the 100 free finals, competing in the B Final for an A Cut finish of 48.55. Lilly Mehok (2:00.20) and Shimizu-Bowers (1:59.33) competed in the 200 fly finals, claiming 21st and 15th, respectively. In the 200 back, Braun (1:55.49) and Claire Mehok (1:55.77) took 17th and 14th in their respective C and B Finals. To close out the championships for the 'Cats, Ervin, Nikonova, Smith and Pan posted a 3:16.11 finish in the 400 free relay. NU finished in 9th in the team standings, with 446.0 points.
