LAS VEGAS — Four Northwestern men’s basketball alums will compete in the 2026 NBA Las Vegas Summer League from July 9 to 19. Nick Martinelli (Los Angeles Clippers), Brooks Barnhizer (Oklahoma City Thunder), Boo Buie (Chicago Bulls) and Pete Nance (Milwaukee Bucks) will participate in the annual event.
Each team will play four games between July 9 and July 16. Then, the teams with the four best records advance to the bracket stage, with semifinal games slated for Saturday, July 18. All other squads will play an additional consolation game.
Games will be streamed on an ESPN platform or Amazon Prime Video. The championship is scheduled for Sunday, July 19 at 7 p.m. CT on ESPN.
Four former Wildcats will be on the sidelines as coaches during the Summer League. Sanjay Lumpkin (2012-17) will serve as head coach for the Atlanta Hawks. Ryan Greer (2019-22) will work with Barhizer as an Oklahoma City assistant coach. Former Northwestern manager Zane Diaz will be an assistant for the San Antonio Spurs, while former graduate assistant Mike Greenman (2018-20) will reunite with Buie on the Bulls staff.
