EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern men's tennis (7-7, 0-0 Big Ten) will kick off the Big Ten portion of its schedule on Friday at Combe Tennis Center, hosting No. 58 Wisconsin at 6 p.m. CT. The 'Cats' weekend slate also includes a home match against No. 48 Nebraska on Sunday, scheduled for a noon CT first serve.

Northwestern enters conference play on a three-match win streak after defeating Chicago State, Northern Kentucky and Marquette over the past two weekends. Seven different 'Cats contributed wins in last Saturday's doubleheader sweep of NKU and Marquette, including first-year Vincent Yang, who earned Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors for his efforts. Yang improved to 3-0 in singles play this dual season with a victory at No. 6 singles against the Norse, and also chipped in with a doubles win alongside Max Bengtsson in the evening match against Marquette.

Ranked No. 58 in this week's ITA team rankings, Wisconsin (6-2, 0-0 Big Ten) is also fresh off a victory over Marquette. The Badgers defeated the Golden Eagles 5-2 on February 27 in Milwaukee, getting themselves back in the win column after falling to No. 50 Notre Dame the previous weekend. Northwestern won both of its meetings with Wisconsin last season, including a 4-1 victory in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament.

After hosting the Badgers, the 'Cats will welcome in No. 48 Nebraska (7-3, 0-0 Big Ten) for a Sunday afternoon contest. The Huskers will head to Evanston after facing No. 20 Illinois on Friday evening in their own conference opener. Heading into conference play, Nebraska has won each of its last three duals, including two road wins over Ole Miss and Tulsa. Last season, the 'Cats fell 6-1 in Lincoln to then-No. 61 Nebraska.

The weekend lineup concludes a stretch of nine straight home matches for the 'Cats, who will hit the road next weekend to continue Big Ten play. They are set to visit Indiana next Friday, where first serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT, then Purdue on Sunday, where play is set to begin at 2 p.m. CT.
