BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Northwestern Men's Tennis (8-8, 1-1 B1G) takes to the road this weekend to continue Big Ten play against No. 51 Indiana and No. 60 Purdue. The 'Cats will arrive in Bloomington on Friday to face the Hoosiers at 6 p.m. CT, then will make the trip to West Lafayette to face the Boilermakers on Sunday at 2 p.m. CT.
Northwestern has won four of their last five matches leading up to this weekend, including a 5-1 victory over No. 58 Wisconsin in last Friday's conference opener - the Wildcats' first victory over a ranked opponent this season.
Chad Miller and Felix Nordby went a perfect 2-0 from the No. 2 singles position last weekend, and have now won three straight matches as a pairing. Both Miller and Nordby also won two singles matches apiece. Recent Big Ten Freshman of the Week honoree Vincent Yang went 2-0 against Wisconsin as well, getting the first conference victories of his career at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles.
Indiana (9-4, 0-2 B1G) enters the weekend on a four-match losing streak, the most recent being a 6-1 defeat at USC. The Hoosiers' last victory came against DePaul on February 16.
Northwestern and Indiana historically match up evenly against each other; Northwestern leads the all-time series 46-40, but Indiana claimed a 4-1 victory in the last match between the two programs.
The Hoosiers' duo of Facundo Yunis and Jip Van Assendelft form the number nine doubles squad in the country, currently boasting a 7-2 record in 2025 dual action.
The Purdue Boilermakers (8-3, 0-2 B1G) suffered losses to UCLA and USC on their west coast road trip this past weekend. They'll look to regain momentum against 20th-ranked Illinois this Friday before hosting Northwestern on Sunday. The 'Cats have dominated Purdue in the past, holding a 68-21-2 all-time record and are currently on a four-match win streak against the Boilermakers. Last season's matchup resulted in a 5-2 'Cats victory, with Nordby picking up wins in both singles and doubles action and Max Bengtsson getting a win of his own at No. 5 singles.
A four-match homestand will be awaiting the 'Cats following this weekend, as they host USC, UCLA, Illinois and Youngstown State to close out March. The stretch begins on Friday, March 21, when the 'Cats face the Trojans at 6 p.m. CT.
