NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Northwestern Men's Tennis (2-3) continues its non-conference dual season with a trek south this weekend to face Vanderbilt and Clemson. The 'Cats are set for a 3 p.m. CT start against the Commodores on Friday, then a 10 a.m. start on Sunday morning against the Tigers.

Friday's matchup in Nashville will feature two evenly matched programs, as Vanderbilt holds a one-match advantage in its series history with Northwestern.

The Commodores return to home court with a 6-2 record, dominating over the weekend against Belmont and Southern Indiana to finish their Saturday doubleheader with a combined 11-0 score against their opponents. In a Wednesday match against Middle Tennessee, Vanderbilt put together a 4-3 team victory to extend its win streak to three. The Commodores enter play against Northwestern with the No. 80 ranked singles player in the nation in Nathan Cox. The junior, who primarily plays at No. 1 singles, holds a 3-6 overall record and is 1-3 in dual play.

Following Friday's action, the 'Cats will then be faced with an undefeated Clemson team. The Tigers have outscored opponents 27-8 through five matches of dual play, most recently upsetting No. 16 Michigan State last Sunday. Their roster features two top-125 singles competitors: No. 51 Noa Vukadin and No. 118 Wissam Abderrahman. Clemson also features a ranked duo in doubles play - Vukadin and partner Maxwell Smith sit at No. 36.

For the 'Cats, Felix Nordby and Chad Miller will look to build on victories at No. 2 and No. 6 singles, respectively. Miller and Nordby each go into the weekend with a 3-1 individual record, with their sole defeats both coming in Northwestern's loss to Louiville last month.

Following this weekend's slate, the 'Cats finish the month at home with a nine-match homestand, beginning with a doubleheader against Illinois State and IU Indy. Action from Combe Tennis Center is set to begin at noon on Saturday, February 15.
