EVANSTON, Ill. - Eight members of the Northwestern football team have been named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, the organization announced today. DB Robert Fitzgerald, TE Thomas Gordon, OL Ben Wrather, DL Aidan Hubbard, QB Jack Lausch, LB Xander Mueller, OL Caleb Tiernan, and LB Mac Uihlein all earned recognition today.
To qualify for an All-District Team, student-athletes must post a 3.50 cumulative GPA while appearing in 90% of their team's games, or starting two-thirds of them. Select members of the All-District teams are considered for All-American status.
Additionally, Hubbard, Mueller, Tiernan, and Uihlein have been selected as CSC Academic All-American finalists. They will be placed on a national ballot, and the CSC Academic All-American teams will be announced on January 28.
CSC began naming the All-American team in 1952, and has since honored 42,000 student athletes across all sports and divisions. CSC also selects an Academic All-American of the Year in each sport.
