LAS VEGAS, NV -- Northwestern Volleyball grabbed an early two-set lead, but couldn't hang on and lost 3-2 (25-19, 25-22, 23-25, 17-25, 13-15) to the Pacific Tigers Saturday at Cox Pavilion.

The non-conference loss dropped Northwestern to 0-2 on the season.

The Wildcats were led by a double-double from Buse Hazan, who registered 14 kills and 11 digs on the day. Kennedy Hill also added 15 kills to help the offense. On the defensive end, Drew Wright chipped in for with 20 digs to go with four blocks from Sophia Summers.

How It Happened

SET 1 | The Wildcats won the first point and held the lead the rest of the way to win the first set 25-19. Northwestern led by as many as eight points at 18-10 before closing out the set.

SET 2 | Northwestern took the second set 25-22 to quickly grab a 2-0 lead. The Wildcats took the set powered by a strong showing on the attacking side. Northwestern registered a .316 attack percentage with 16 kills in the set win. The Wildcats rallied from down six at 12-6 to claim the win. The Northwestern offense also got a boost from three aces in the stanza.

SET 3 | Northwestern saw its chance for a 3-0 sweep end when Pacific took the third set. The Wildcats fell in a back-and-forth battle, losing 25-23 in a set that featured six lead changes and was tied 10 times. Neither team had a lead of more than four points along the way.

SET 4 | Northwestern then dropped their second straight set 25-17 to brind the match level at two sets apiece. The Wildcats trailed by as many as nine points as Pacific grabbed the advantage for good at 2-1 and Northwestern wasn't able to recover in a set that was tied up just once before the Tigers took over.

SET 5 | Northwestern jumped out to a two sets to none lead, but couldn't win another set on their way to losing the match. The Wildcats fell in a back-and-forth set five, losing in a stanza that featured three lead changes and was tied eight times. Neither team led by more than three points in the set.
