EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern (20-9, 11-7 B1G), which sits in third place in the Big Ten Conference standings, seeks its third straight win in East Lansing when it faces Michigan State (17-12, 9-9 B1G) at 6 p.m. CT on Wednesday, March 6. Brandon Gaudin (play-by-play), Robbie Hummel (analyst), and Andy Katz (sideline) will have the call on BTN, while Dave Eanet (play-by-play) and Billy McKinney (analyst) will have the radio call on WGN Radio 720 and SiriusXMΒ Channel 386.

Over the last two seasons, the Wildcats have won 23 Big Ten games, their most in consecutive seasons in school history, surpassing 20 wins over the 1930-31 and 1931-32 seasons. NU has tallied 10-plus league wins in consecutive seasons for the first time in school history and secured a .500 or better conference record for the fourth time in the last 56 years. Northwestern's 42 total wins over the last two seasons are tied for second in the Big Ten with Illinois, trailing only Purdue (54).

NU's five NET Quad 1 wins (Dayton, Purdue, Michigan State, Illinois, at Maryland) rank third-most in theΒ Big Ten. Northwestern's 10-8 mark in Quad 1 and Quad 2 games is the 18th-best nationally.

Northwestern ranks second in the Big Ten and eighth nationally in three-point field goal percentage (39.3%, 241-for-613). The 'Cats are shooting 42.3% from beyond the arc in conference play, the highest mark in league games nationally.

Boo Buie leads all Wildcats, shooting 42.9% (72-for-168)Β from 3-point range, an 11.1% improvement over last year. Buie has recorded a nation-leading eight games this season with 20-plus points and seven-plus assists. The next closest high major player has recorded four games. Buie's 153 assists this season ranks sixth all-time in Northwestern's single-season history, trailing himself (2023, 154) and Pat Baldwin (1994, 154) by one for fourth place. He is only the sixth high-major player in the last 25 seasons to post career numbers of 2,000 points, 600 assists and 250 3-pointers.

Brooks Barnhizer is averaging 14.4 points per game (second on the team, 18th in Big Ten), a team-best 7.1 rebounds per game (9th in Big Ten), and 1.8 steals per game, which leads the team and ranks fourth in the Big Ten. Barnhizer is one of just two high-major players averaging 14.0-plus points, 7.0-plus rebounds, and 1.8-plus steals per game (Kadary Richmond, Seton Hall).Β

MSU leads the all-time series against Northwestern 94-42, but the Wildcats have won four of the last five meetings and three straight in the series. NU won the first meeting of the season 88-74 inside Welsh-Ryan Arena on Jan. 7, as Buie recorded his first career double-double with 19 points and 10 assists.

Tyson Walker leads all Spartans, averaging 18.0 points per game. A.J. Hoggard ranks fifth in the Big Ten, averaging 5.0 assists per game.
