Northwestern boasts a 3-2 historical record against the Eagles. The Wildcats are 2-1 when playing at home in Evanston and 0-1 when on the road at BC.
Their last clash occurred during the National Championship showdown on May 28, 2023, held in Cary, NC. This encounter marked a historic moment in the rivalry, seeing the largest margin of victory to date with the 'Cats winning 18-6. NU secured a narrow win earlier last season at home in Ryan Fieldhouse, with a close score of 15-14.
The Eagles return most of last season's lineup and have kicked off this season with an impressive 5-0 start. Their sole ranked match this year against No. 20 UMass ended in a decisive victory, 20-9, setting the stage for their first significant challenge of the season against the Wildcats.
Meanwhile, Northwestern has started the season 3-1, including one victory on the road (Colorado) and one loss (Notre Dame).
In a stellar performance last week, Izzy Scane dominated on the field and was honored as Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week for her outstanding display against Colorado, netting 5 goals and providing 2 assists. She also achieved a monumental milestone, joining an elite group of collegiate women's lacrosse players with 300 career goals. Scane is also on track to break yet another school record in career points, currently trailing behind the impressive benchmark set by Hannah Neilsen at 392 points, a record that has stood since 2009.
In last year's National Championship clash against the Eagles, Scane showcased her skill with 4 goals and 2 assists.
Another standout player for the Wildcats is Madison Taylor, who recently dazzled with a remarkable 6-goal performance against the Colorado Buffaloes. The reigning Big Ten Freshman of the Year proved her mettle in last year's Championship against the Eagles, contributing 4 crucial goals to help lead her team to victory.
