Wildcats Drop 3-0 Sweep to Washington

SEATTLE, Wash. -- The 'Cats could not out-play an effective Huskies offense on Sunday, falling to Washington in three sets on the road (15-25, 23-25, 14-25).
The loss dropped Northwestern's record to 5-19 overall and 3-13 in Big Ten action.
Rylen Reid finished with nine kills on the day to lead the Wildcats' attack. Defensively, Northwestern had two players reach double figures in digs as Drew Wright and Alexa Rousseau both contributed 10.
How It Happened
SET 1 | The Wildcats fell behind early, dropping a tough first set 25-15. Washington grabbed the advantage at 9-8 in the set and never looked back on their way to a 1-0 lead in the match.
SET 2 | Northwestern battled through a second set that featured seven lead changes and was tied 13 times. Neither team led by more than four points along the way, and the 'Cats led as late as 23-22, but the Huskies eventually came out on top of a 25-23 victory.
SET 3 | Washington controlled set three the whole way, grabbing the advantage at 2-1 and never trailing again. They secured a 25-14 set three win and a 3-0 match victory.
Game Notes
» Rylen Reid had a team-high nine kills for Northwestern, leading the offense for the fourth time this year.
» Drew Wright extended her double-digit dig streak to nine straight games with a team-high ten in the match.
» Lauren Carter led the team in assists with ten, and is averaging nearly 12 per game over the last two weeks.
» Alexa Rousseau fell just one assist shy of her 12th double-double of the season with nine assists and 10 digs.
