EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern women's basketball is back home at Welsh-Ryan Arena on Wednesday for their second consecutive ranked matchup, this one against the No. 3 Iowa Hawkeyes. The game is set to tip off at 7:00 p.m. and will be streamed exclusively on Peacock.

The Wildcats (7-13, 2-7 B1G) are coming off a road loss to then-No. 14 Indiana, who have since risen to No. 10 in the AP Top-25. With that, Northwestern's game against Iowa will be their second straight against a ranked team and their fifth of the season overall.

While the 'Cats couldn't pull off the upset in Bloomington, they finished strong with a 29-point fourth quarter, their highest scoring quarter of the season. They reached that mark on 10-11 shooting - a 90.91 field goal percentage - including a perfect 4-for-4 mark from beyond the arch.

Two of those fourth-quarter threes came from Caroline Lau, who reached double-digit scoring for the second straight game with 12 against the Hoosiers. Lau is averaging 7.5 points per game this season to go along with 5.8 assists, which ranks 21st in the country and second in the Big Ten. With Iowa in town, Wednesday night's game will feature the conference's top two distributors; Lau's 115 total assists are second only to Caitlin Clark's 160.

In addition to Lau, Melannie Daley continued to lead the 'Cats' offense with 16 points in Sunday's game. That marked her third straight game in double figures and her tenth in the last 12 games. The junior is averaging a team-best 12.9 points per game on 49.8 percent shooting - good for ninth in the Big Ten and fourth among conference guards.

As a team, the 'Cats also blocked a season-high seven shots against Indiana, improving them to 4.0 blocks per game on the season. Hailey Weaver and Caileigh Walsh both logged multi-block games, moving Walsh officially into the program record books, with 94 in her career, which ranks tenth all-time.

The 'Cats will host the No. 3 Hawkeyes, who moved up two spots in this week's AP Poll after beating Nebraska on Saturday. Iowa's only conference loss this season came at the hands of No. 18 Ohio State on Jan. 21. They've dispatched three ranked opponents and eight of nine Big Ten foes en route to a 19-2 overall record, placing them first in the conference.

After taking on Iowa, the 'Cats continue their homestand with a rematch against Wisconsin this Sunday, Feb. 4. They'll try for the season sweep against the Badgers on National Girls and Women in Sports Day at Welsh-Ryan Arena. Tip-off in that game is scheduled for 2 p.m. and will be streamed on B1G+.
