David Braun Named George Munger College Coach of the Year Finalist

EVANSTON, Ill. – Dan & Susan Jones Family Head Football Coach David Braun has been selected as one of five finalists for the George Munger College Coach of the Year, the Maxwell Football Club Announced on Wednesday. The winner of the 2023 George Munger Award will be announced on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.

Braun led the Wildcats to an 8-5 record, capping off the season with a 14-7 win over Utah in the 2023 SRS Distribution Las Vegas Bowl. Braun's eight wins finish the season ranked tied for most among first year head coaches (Tim Beck, Coastal Carolina). 

Previously, Braun has been named Consensus Big Ten Coach of the Year, AFCA Regional Coach of the Year, Bryant Award Big Ten Coach of the Year, Bryant Award Newcomer Coach of the Year, and was named a finalist for the Bryant Coach of the Year and Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year awards.

The George Munger Award will be formally presented at the 87th Maxwell Awards Gala which will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024 at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta, Georgia.
