Northwestern Falls 100-59 to Indiana

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Northwestern women's basketball fell 100-59 to the Indiana Hoosiers on the road Sunday.
The Wildcats (7-13, 2-7) had two players score in double figures, led by Melannie Daley, who had 16 points. Caroline Lau added 12 points and Caileigh Walsh added seven points and two blocks.
Northwestern did a great job disrupting Indiana shots in the contest, coming away with seven blocks. Walsh and Hailey Weaver led the way individually for the Wildcats with two rejections each.
How It Happened
Northwestern struggled out of the gate, falling behind 27-8 at the end of the first quarter.
The Wildcats continued to lose ground in the second quarter and faced a 50-24 halftime deficit.
Northwestern's deficit continued to grow after halftime, and the Wildcats faced a 75-30 disadvantage heading to the fourth quarter.
Indiana kept widening its lead in the fourth, constructing a 96-46 advantage before Northwestern went on a 6-0 run, finished off by Casey Harter's three, to shrink the deficit to 96-52 with 2:55 to go in the contest. The Wildcats kept their comeback going, but Indiana managed to hold on for the 100-59 win. Northwestern fired away from deep in the quarter, knocking down four shots to account for 12 of its 29 points.
