EVANSTON, Ill. – Looking to bounce back from a season-opening loss on Monday, Northwestern men's tennis will play two matches this weekend.

On Friday, the 'Cats will be in Tennessee to take on Memphis at the Leftwich Tennis Center. Memphis is 2-0 so far this year with a decisive 6-1 victory over UAB last Friday and a takedown of No. 11 Harvard on Wednesday. The Tigers make one appearance in the ITA's singles rankings: Pau Fanlo at No. 80.

Following the road match, Northwestern returns to campus for their home opener at the Combe Tennis Center on Sunday, taking on Louisville. Louisville is 2-0 after sweeping a doubleheader on Wednesday, notching a pair of 6-1 victories over Xavier and Bellarmine. The Cardinals placed two players in the ITA's singles rankings. Etienne Donnet leads the way (No. 16) with Will Mayew also cracking the top 60 (No. 56).

In the 'Cats' opener against NC State, senior Presley Thieneman picked up a come-from-behind 3-6, 7-5, 6-1 victory over ITA Singles No. 120, Robin Catry, in his debut playing at the #1 Singles slot. First years Jackson Caldwell and Greyson Casey both made their Wildcat debuts as well.

Following this weekend's action, the 'Cats will travel to Cambridge, Mass. to take on Ole Miss at 12 p.m. CT on Saturday, January 27th in the ITA Kickoff. They will then take on either Harvard or UCLA on Sunday, January 28th.
