BLACKSBURG, Va. – Northwestern rallied past Virginia Tech in a five-goal thriller on Sunday to close out its regular season non-conference schedule.
The win boosted Northwestern's record to 6-0-2 overall, giving the 'Cats their first unbeaten non-conference slate since 2018.

Virginia Tech took a 1-0 lead when Taylor Price scored in the 26th minute, assisted by Samantha Deguzman, giving Northwestern its first deficit of the season.
Northwestern responded quickly, levelling the game less than a minute later when Meg Boade found Megan Norkett for her fourth goal of the season and third goal in the last two games.
The Wildcats struck again in the 28th minute, grabbing a 2-1 lead on a sensational individual effort from Boade, who weaved through defenders and beat the Hokie keeper for the goal.
The Hokies tied the game at 2-2 with a 52nd-minute goal from Price, assisted by Eden Skyers.
Northwestern broke the 2-2 deadlock just two minutes later, when a Megan Norkett takeaway and through ball fell to Ella Hase, who made no mistake, giving Northwestern a 3-2 lead for good.
