EVANSTON, Ill. — No. 2 Northwestern starts a three-game stretch of road games on Thursday, April 6 at Rutgers at 6 p.m. CT before traveling to UAlbany on Saturday, April 8 for a 4 p.m. CT first draw. Northwestern's tilt on Thursday evening will air on BTN.

10 Things to Know

  1. Northwestern (11-1, 3-0 B1G) earned its sixth ranked win of the season last week, dominating No. 18 Penn State, 19-9. 
  2. Izzy Scane scored a team-high six goals, while Hailey Rhatigan set a season-high with five goals. Rhatigan and Scane lead the nation in both career goals with 255 and 249 respectively and career goals per game with 3.81 and 4.70 per game respectively. 
  3. Scane still leads the nation with 6.0 goals per game, having found 60 goals in just 10 games. Her closest competition is Bryant's Kenna Kaut at 4.6 goals per game.
  4. Rhatigan was added to the Tewaarton Award Watch List last week. The Tewaarton Award honors the best player in both men's and women's college lacrosse each year. Rhatigan joins Izzy Scane, Erin Coykendall, Madison Taylor, Sammy White, and Molly Laliberty on the watch list for Northwestern.
  5. Taylor added two goals, two assists and three draw controls against Penn State to earn her seventh Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors. The last Wildcat to earn the weekly honor seven times was Scane who did so in consecutive weeks at the end of the 2019 season. 
  6. Coykendall added one goal and a game-high four assists against Penn State after career performances against Johns Hopkins and Stanford. Coykendall scored 11 goals and tallied five assists across the two games (5 goals and 2 assists against Johns Hopkins, career-high 6 goals and 3 assists against Stanford) earning her first IWCLA and Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors.
  7. Northwestern's 11 game winning streak is tied for the second-longest active streak in the country.
  8. Head coach Kelly Amonte Hiller is 342-88 in her career and 97-25 during conference play during her 22 seasons at Northwestern.
  9. Northwestern is 16-1 all-time against Rutgers (4-6, 0-4 B1G). The Wildcats lost against the Scarlet Knights for the first time in their last meeting during the Big Ten Tournament 13-5 in 2022.
  10. The Wildcats are 2-0 all-time against UAlbany (6-5). The last time the two team met was in 2017 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament where the 'Cats came away with a 15-7 win. 
After this week's road trip, the 'Cats will travel to Columbus to face Ohio State on Saturday, April 15 at 5 p.m. CT on ESPNU.
