'Cats Travel for Weekend Series at Saint Louis

EVANSTON, Ill. โ Northwestern travels south this weekend for a three-game series at Saint Louis in Missouri.

First will feature a double-header, with first pitch in game one set for noon CT and game two to follow the conclusion of game one. Saturday's single game will begin at noon.

This past weekend, the 'Cats battled Louisiana Tech in Ruston, La. in a tight three-game series.

First-year Owen McElfatrick went 3-for-5 in game one, blasting his first-career home run in the eighth inning. Catcher Alex Calarco doubled as part of a 2-for-4 game.

The 'Cats took Louisiana Tech to extra innings on Saturday, but ultimately fell in the eleventh inning. Matt McClureย got the ball on Saturday and did not allow a hit through four innings. Nolan Morr tallied four strikeouts in 3.1 innings of one-run ball out of the bullpen. The 'Cats took a 4-0 lead in the fifth inning on a Cooper Foard double but could not hold on to the advantage.
