INDIANAPOLIS – Boo Buie has been selected to the U.S. Basketball Writers Association District V All-District Team. The teams are voted on by USBWA's national membership.
In league play, Buie upped his game a notch, posting 19.1 points per game in conference play, including 12 outings of 20 or more points during the Big Ten regular season. Buie's 19.1 points per game in league games ranks fifth amongst Big Ten players, and his 4.6 assists per game in Big Ten play ranks sixth.
Buie's 548 points during the 2022-23 campaign ranks seventh-most in a single season in program history, five points behind Michael Thompson's 553 points in the 2010-11 season for sixth place.
The Albany, N.Y. native shot 87.6% from the free throw line this season, the best mark in the Big Ten and 36th-best nationally.
Twenty-three Division I conferences are represented among the 90 players honored by the USBWA with the Big Ten and SEC leading all conferences with 11 All-District players.
Buie leads Northwestern in both points per game (17.1) and assists per game (4.5), and is one of only three high-major players in the country averaging at least 17 points and 4.5 assists per game this season. Buie is the first Northwestern player to average over 17 points per game since John Shurna tallied 20.0 points per game in 2010-11..@USBWA all-district honors for @booboo_buie ?? pic.twitter.com/2yBwDpinlD
