Northwestern Set to Make Quick Road Trip to Face Marquette

EVANSTON, Ill. — No. 3 Northwestern (2-1) will make a quick jaunt up to Milwaukee at 5 p.m. CT on Thursday, Feb. 23 to face Marquette (3-0). The game can be seen on FloSports.

- Northwestern is 7-0 all-time against Marquette. The Wildcats last faced the Golden Eagles in 2022 where they came away with a 24-13 win at home.
- The Wildcats are coming off a record 15-14 come-from-behind win against then-No. 3 Boston College. The win marked Northwestern's first against the Eagles since 2013.
- Izzy Scane was named IWCLA Co-Offensive player of the Week for her performances against Notre Dame and Boston College that culminated in 14 goals and three assists.
- Scane tied her own program record with 10 goals against Notre Dame. Her goals accounted for over half of Northwestern's total offense. She has not scored less than four goals in any game so far this season and ranks second in the nation with 6.33 goals per game.
- First-year Madison Taylor has continued to impress, adding five more goals and three assists in her last two appearances to win her second straight Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors for the second week in a row. Taylor first earned Big Ten Freshman of the Week after tying Scane for a team-high five goals on seven shots against Syracuse. Taylor is the first NU player to score 5+ goals in her collegiate debut since at least the 2007 season.
- Taylor has also taken over the draw circle for the 'Cats alongside Samantha Smith. Taylor ranks second on the team with 16 draws on the season, eclipsed only by Smith's 22.
- Dylan Amonte found her stride against Boston College, scoring a game and career-high five goals. Her performance put her at seven goals on the season, third on the team behind Scane and Taylor.
- Erin Coykendall, a Big Ten Preseason Player to Watch, leads the team with Scane in assists with five. She has also added three goals, scoring once in each game this season.
- Emerson Bohlig scored the final Wildcat goal against the Eagles to put the 'Cats up by two with three minutes left to play and force a Boston College timeout. The goal was the first of the season for Bohlig who has found herself in an elevated role.
- Graduate goalkeeper Molly Laliberty has proven her mettle, coming up with nine key saves against Boston College. Her best performance so far came against Notre Dame where she posted 13 saves while allowing just nine goals for a .591 save percentage.
Northwestern begins a five-game homestand at Noon CT on Saturday, March 4 against Vanderbilt inside Ryan Fieldhouse.
