Wildcats Head To Ohio State For Wednesday Night Matchup

5 p.m. (CT) clash to be televised on Big Ten Network
EVANSTON, Ill. (October 24, 2023) – Coming off a split at home last week, Northwestern (10-10, 4-6 B1G) returns to the road this week for a matchup with Ohio State on Wednesday night in Columbus, Ohio. First serve is set for 5 p.m. (CT) in a matchup that will be televised live on Big Ten Network.
LAST TIME OUT
Northwestern fended off a pair of match points as it rallied from a 2-1 deficit to defeat Michigan in five sets, 3-2, this past Saturday inside Welsh- Ryan Arena.
Maddy Chinn (11 kills), Averie Hernandez (11 kills), and Leilani Dodson (10 kills) all finished in double figures in kills, while Alexa Rousseau posted her seventh double-double (37 assists, 13 digs) in eight matches. Kennedy Hill was dominant at the net, finishing with eight blocks, just one rejection off her career high.
SCOUTING OHIO STATE
Currently mired in a three-match skid, Ohio State sits at 7-12 overall (4-6 B1G). In their most recent action, the Buckeyes dropped a five-set decision on the road at Indiana on Saturday.
Fourth-year head coach Jen Flynn Oldenburg boasts one of the Big Ten's top attacking threats in Emily Londot. The two-time American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-American leads the Big Ten with 4.69 kills per set. Rader Rylee, who adds 2.17 kills per set, ranks fourth in the league in hitting percentage, operating at a .364 clip.

Northwestern and Ohio State will meet for the 82nd time on Wednesday night, a series the Buckeyes lead by a 58-23 (.716) margin.
Winners of the its last three matchups with the 'Cats, Ohio State prevailed in both meetings between the two teams last season, including a 3-1 win inside the Covelli Center on October 9, 2022. Northwestern will be in search of its first win over the Buckeyes since a three-set sweep on November 22, 2019.
