Junior earns share of 25th on individual leaderboard
ALPHARETTA, Ga. (October 17, 2023) – Cameron Adam turned in the low 54-hole effort of the week as the Northwestern University men's golf team saw action at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate Invitational over the weekend in Alpharetta, Ga.
The 'Cats turned in their top team round of the event during final-round action, firing a five-under-par 283 to close play at the par-72, 7,092-yard Lakeside Course in 13th place with an 867 (286-298-283). Virginia (278-292-269=839) won the team title, while UCLA's Omar Morales (68-68-69) and East Tennessee State's Algot Kleen (67-68-70) shared individual medalist honors after both finished with scores of 11-under-par 205.
Adam was the top Wildcat on the final leaderboard, earning a share of 25th with a one-under-par 215 (72-74-69). The Edinburg, Scotland product posted his top 18-hole effort during final-round action, carding a three-under-par 69 that included a four-under-par effort over his final nine holes in which he posted five birdies.
James Imai bookended his weekend with even-par rounds of 72 en route on his way to a two-over-par 218 (72-74-72) that saw him tie for 38th. Ethan Tseng and Daniel Svärd finished as part of a four-way tie for 45th at 219. Tseng (72-76-71=219) fired a one-under-par 71 during final-round play, while Svärd opened his stay in The Peach State with a two-under-par 70 on Friday afternoon.
Making his debut in the Northwestern lineup, Jeremy Chen turned in a final-round one-under-par 71 to finish tied for 67th with a 226 (75-80-71).
