BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Boo Buie scored 26 points to help lead Northwestern past the #15 Indiana Hoosiers 84-83 on the road at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall on Sunday as the Wildcats (12-3, 3-1) improved to 3-1 in the Big Ten.

Buie's 26 point effort led the 'Cats and was his third 25+ point outing of the season. Chase Audige helped out with 19 points and Ty Berry chipped in with a double double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Northwestern did a stellar job taking care of the basketball, dishing out 15 assists while turning the ball over just seven times. Audige's eight helpers accounted for over half of NU's total.

The Northwestern defense caused 16 Indiana turnovers, scoring 25 points off those turnovers. Audige's six steals led the way individually for the Wildcats.

How It Happened

After trading baskets for the first four minutes, Northwestern ripped off a 10-0 run with 15:38 left in the first half, culminating in a three from Berry, to take a 19-9 lead. The Hoosiers slowly chipped away at the lead, but Northwestern still entered halftime with a 41-34 advantage. NU shot 6-for-12 from three in the opening 20 minutes, including going 4-for-5 to start the game.

Northwestern started tacking on points in the second half almost immediately, going on a 6-0 run to grow the lead to 47-34 with 17:05 to go in the contest. The Hoosiers cut into the lead before the game was over, but the Wildcats still held on for the 84-83 win.
