Northwestern Hosts Minnesota on Senior Day

EVANSTON, Ill. - The Northwestern men's basketball team closes out the 2021-22 regular season and honors three seniors as it hosts Minnesota at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 6. Brandon Gaudin (play-by-play) and Stephen Bardo (analyst) have the call on BTN, while Dave Eanet (play-by-play) and Billy McKinney (analyst) will describe the action on AM 1000 WMVP.
The Wildcats will host senior day festivities for Ryan Greer, Pete Nance and Elyjah Williams before the game at approximately 6:10 p.m. The team will also wear special By The Player uniforms designed by the three seniors.
Northwestern (13-15, 6-13 B1G) is looking to end the regular season on a high note as the Big Ten Conference Tournament looms next week. As of the current standings, the Wildcats would be the No. 12 seed and face Minnesota for the second game in a row in the first round on Wednesday night.
Nance enters play leading the Wildcats averaging 14.6 points per game, which ranks 15th in the conference. He has scored 981 career points, and is 19 shy of become the program's 38th 1,000 point scorer. The Akron, Ohio native also leads the team pulling down 6.3 boards per game. Boo Buie is second on the team scoring 14.2 points per game. With two more points this season, Buie (398 points, 121 assists) will become the program's player to post 400+ and 100+ assists in the same season since Bryant McIntosh in 2016-17 (534 points, 188 assists).
Defensively, Northwestern has generated 191 steals this season, its most since the 2011-12 campaign (219). Chase Audige leads the team with 38 swipes.
Minnesota (13-15, 4-15 B1G) has dropped five of its last six matchups, with its only win over that stretch coming against the Wildcats on Feb. 19 in Minneapolis, 77-60. The Golden Gophers fell at Maryland on Tuesday night, 84-73.
