He was also named the No. 3 player in the state heading into this season. While playing AAU ball, he helped guide Mass Rivals to a 15-4 record by averaging 5.2 assists per game in the Adidas 3SSSB regular season.

What Collins is saying about Clayton: "We are very excited to officially welcome Jordan Clayton to the Northwestern Basketball Family. Jordan is a hard-nosed guard that brings a lot to the table on both ends of the court. His versatility as a guard will be a huge asset to our program moving forward. His rapid improvement over this past year shows the type of upside that he has, and we expect him to make an immediate impact on the court. Jordan is a proven winner with high character and work ethic that will fit perfectly at Northwestern." As a junior at Pacifica Christian HS (Newport Beach, Calif.) Strauss led the team in points (11.9), rebounds (6.6), assists (3.9) and steals per game (2.9), and led the Tritons to a quarterfinal appearance in the Division 2A playoffs. The 6'4" guard is rated a three-star prospect by 247Sports and the No. 30 player in California and No. 31 point guard nationally. Strauss was named first-team All-San Joaquin League and an All-CIF selection. Strauss also competed for the Pacifica Christian track and field team where he set the school record in the 1600m relay of 3:24.5. He played AAU ball for Los Angeles Elite.

What Collins is saying about Strauss: "We are thrilled to welcome Parker Strauss to Northwestern and our basketball family. Parker is a throwback player in every way. He will bring incredible versatility to our backcourt with his size and wingspan at the guard position. He is an extremely high IQ player that always seems to make the right play. Parker's toughness, leadership and winning attitude will be huge additions to our program, and does all the little things on the court to help his teams win. Parker has a bright future as a Wildcat." Northwestern two-game homestand to open the 2022-23 season continues at 7 p.m. CT on Friday, Nov. 11 against Northern Illinois.
