EVANSTON, Ill. – Big Ten soccer returns to the shores of Lake Michigan Thursday night as Northwestern is set to take on Illinois at Lanny and Sharon Martin Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. CT with streaming available on B1G+.

The Wildcats return home after an emphatic three-game road trip to start to conference play, featuring a 2-1 take down of No. 12 Penn State behind goals from Kaylee Titus and Josie Aulicino. Northwestern closed the trip Sunday with a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Maryland in which Francesca Docters forced overtime in the 90th minute with her first career goal. The 'Cats now stand at 5-4-1 on the season.

The Fighting Illini bring a 4-6 record into the matchup after going 0-3 in their last three games to start Big Ten play. Illinois leads the all-time series 15-7-3 between the sides. Northwestern looks for its first win against Illinois since 2018 when the 'Cats prevailed 2-1 in Evanston.

Thursday's game showcases two of the Big Ten's premier attackers in Aulicino and Illinois' Hope Breslin. Aulicino leads the conference with six assists and ranks seventh in goals with five, while Breslin's six goals are tied for third.

Breslin will have her hands full, however, against Northwestern's star keeper Mackenzie Wood whose 42 saves are second most in the Big Ten.
