EVANSTON, Ill. – The Wildcats travel to Ann Arbor for Big Ten road contest at Michigan on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. CT and will be streamed on B1G+.

Northwestern is 2-4-2 on the season while the Wolverines are 3-4-1. The 'Cats are coming off a hard-fought home battle against No. 11 Indiana on Tuesday, taking a 1-0 first half lead before conceding two early second half goals to fall 2-1. Michigan is coming off a 3-1 loss to Notre Dame, the first game this season that was not a one-goal game for the Wolverines.

Sunday's game holds the special distinction of being the first-ever Power-5 men's soccer game with two black head coaches. Northwestern head coach Russell Payne will take the sidelines opposite Chaka Daley, the 2017 Big Ten Coach of the Year.

Junior Vicente Castro scored the goal against the Hoosiers on Tuesday, his first goal of the season and fourth point, becoming the fourth Wildcat on the team with at least a goal and an assist. Sophomore Justin Weiss picked up the assist for his team-high sixth point of the season, coming on two goals and two assists. Weiss leads the offense with 20 shots.

The Wildcats last defeated Michigan in 2016, and have not won in Ann Arbor since 2013. Last season in the 2021 spring opener, Northwestern fell 4-1after scoring first in the fifth minute on a goal from Joseph Arena assisted by Bardia Kimiavi and Castro.
