Five Wildcats Receive IWCLA All-Region Honors

EVANSTON, Ill. – The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Associaton (IWLCA) announced Wednesday that five Wildcats received All-Region honors for their performances this season.
Lauren Gilbert, Lindsey McKone, Ally Palermo and Izzy Scane were named to the All West/Midwest Region First Team. Sammy Mueller received All West/Midwest Region Second Team honors.
Scane, Gilbert, Mueller and McKone lead the team in goals this season with 89, 59, 36 and 23 respectively. Scane, Mueller and McKone have also been fantastic distributors this season, all recording 15+ assists.
McKone has also been holding down the Northwestern defense alongside Palermo, leading the team in caused turnovers with 15 and 14 respectively. Palermo is also second on the team in ground balls with a whopping 26.
Scane, Gilbert, McKone and Palermo also received First Team All-Big Ten honors, while Mueller was similarly named to the second team. With their All-Region honors, all five 'Cats are now eligible for the 2021 IWCLA All-American team.
The Wildcats will return to the field this weekend to face No. 7 Duke in the quarterfinals of the NCAA tournament at Martin Stadium. Game is set for Noon CT on ESPN3.
