Wildcats Sweep Wisconsin at Vandy Christie Tennis Center

EVANSTON, Ill. – No. 47. Northwestern swept Wisconsin, 7-0, at the Vandy Christie Tennis Center on Sunday.
The Wildcats improved to 10-5 on the season and won three out of four matches in their recent homestand.
The 'Cats locked in the doubles point thanks to wins at No. 2 and 3 singles. Natan Spear and Steven Forman got on the board early with a 6-1 win while Dominik Stary and Chris Ephron clinched the point with a 6-3 win. The No. 7 doubles paring in the country of Nick Brookes and Simen Bratholm were locked in a 4-5 battle at No. 1 when the point was clinched.
The 'Cats took home all six singles matches, with five of them coming in straight sets. Brookes scored first with a straightforward 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 3. Stary followed suit with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 2.
Ephron also earned a stress-free result with a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 4. Presley Thieneman held on in a 10-7 third set super tiebreak to finish off his win at No. 6, 6-2, 2-6, 1-0.
Trice Pickens battled his way through a 7-3 first set tiebreak to win 7-6, 6-2. Forman picked up the final win of the day after fighting through two breakers, winning the first 9-7 and the second, decisively, 7-0 for a 7-6, 7-6 win at No. 1 over Jared Pratt.
The Wildcats have three matches left in the regular season and have a two-game road trip at Nebraska and Iowa starting on Friday at 5 p.m.
