Lacrosse

The women's lacrosse program clinched the Big Ten regular season title on Monday with a 20-10 win over No. 9 Maryland. Junior Izzy Scane led the way, scoring five goals for the Wildcats en route to winning her third Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honors this season.

The Wildcats moved to 9-0 on the season while collecting the sweep of the Maryland Terrapins. After North Carolina defeated Syracuse, Northwestern jumped to the No. 2 spot in the Inside Lacrosse polls.

Northwestern clinched a first seed in the Big Ten Tournament that will take place from April 29-May 2. The Wildcats' next game is on Thursday, April 8 against Ohio State in Columbus, Ohio at 6 p.m. CT on the Big Ten Network. This will be the second meeting between the two teams after the 'Cats routed the Buckeyes 23-7 to open the season.

Women's Soccer

The 'Cats suffered a close loss to the Fighting Illini on Saturday for their last home game of the season. Senior Regan Steigleder led the offensive effort, sending home the first goal of the game and her third of the season.

With a 5-6 record, Northwestern women's soccer will head to the Big Ten regional weekend in Madison, Wisconsin. They will play Purdue on Thursday at 5 pm CT, with the winner facing Wisconsin on Sunday. The Wildcats fell to the Boilermakers, 1-0, in the teams' previous meeting earlier in the season.

Field Hockey

The field hockey program is currently on a three-game winning streak, with each of the wins coming via an overtime winner. An overtime victory over Ohio State on Friday made head coach Tracey Fuchs the winningest coach in program history, with 142 total victories.

Sophomore Bente Baekers got the Wildcats out to an early lead in their first game against Ohio State with two goals. First-year Lauren Wadas was the hero in the second match-up against the Buckeyes, scoring two goals (including the game winner) and earning Big Ten Freshman of the week honors.

The 'Cats now head to Piscataway, New Jersey for a two game slate against #10 Rutgers. Northwestern will face the Scarlet Knights on Friday at noon CT on Big Ten Network, followed by another matchup Sunday at 11 a.m CT.

Women's Tennis

Coming off a 4-3 victory against the Badgers, the women's tennis program will head to Bloomington, Indiana to face the Hoosiers on Friday at 11 a.m. Northwestern is currently on a six-game winning streak with an impressive 16-2 overall record and a 12-1 conference record.

With their most recent win the 'Cats are now tied with Ohio State and Michigan for the lead in the conference standings. Northwestern easily clinched the doubles point with two wins against Wisconsin while Briana Crowley, Caroline Pozo and Christina Hand held things down on the singles courts.

Softball

After a 9-4 win over Maryland last Sunday, the No. 22-ranked Wildcats maintained their spot atop the Big Ten standings. The weekend was highlighted by Rachel Lewis posting a team-high seven RBI to go along with a 1.545 slugging percentage and .722 on-base percentage in four games. Additionally, Danielle Williams earned her Big Ten-leading 10th win of the season, while Morgan Newport extended her hitting streak to 10-consecutive games.

In their third game against the Terrapins the 'Cats notched a season-high four home runs. Rachel Lewis contributed two of those homers in addition to 5 RBI. Newport also tossed 6.2 scoreless innings over the weekend to extend her scoreless inning streak to 20.0 innings to open this season. Her 0.00 ERA leads all qualifying pitchers (1.0 IP/GP) in the Big Ten.

With a 18-2 record, the 'Cats will head into a four game weekend slate against Minnesota at home, including a double header on Saturday starting at noon. The 'Cats will face the Gophers first on Friday at 3 p.m. on ESPNU. Their final match-up will be on Sunday at 11 a.m. on the Big Ten Network.

Baseball

After 18 games on the road, the Northwestern baseball program will finally return home for a six game stretch over the next two weeks: three against Rutgers and three against Indiana, beginning with Rutgers this weekend. The 'Cats start play on Friday at 3 p.m. before facing the Scarlet Knights on Saturday at 1 p.m. and Sunday at noon.

In their last game on Sunday, the 'Cats picked up a 4-1 win over No. 24 Michigan highlighted by Quinn Lavelle's pitching. In 6.0 innings, Lavelle allowed just one run on four hits and three walks, striking out two. Michael Trautwein highlighted the offensive performance notching his team-high 21st RBI on the season.

Men's Tennis

In their first game outdoors at the Vandy Christie Tennis Center last Sunday, the men's tennis program swept Wisconsin 7-0. After quickly grabbing the doubles point, the 'Cats easily swept Wisconsin in the singles with five wins coming in straight sets.

The 'Cats hope to extend their two game win streak when they hit the road to face the Cornhuskers on Friday at 5 p.m. in Lincoln, Nebraska. Northwestern faced Nebraska at home in March and came away with a 4-0 win.

Men's Soccer

The eighth-seeded men's soccer program will head to the Big Ten Tournament in Bloomington, Indiana this weekend. They are set to face Indiana at 1 p.m. on Saturday on the Big Ten Network. The 'Cats and Hoosiers have split their two matchups this season, including a thrilling 1-0 victory over IU at Ryan Fieldhouse back in February.

Sophomore Ugo Achara Jr. leads the Wildcats with five goals on the season and ranks second in the Big Ten. Meanwhile fellow sophomore Vicente Castro and graduate student Spencer Farina have racked up four assists to tie for third in the Big Ten.
